5. Basic values for standardised resistances according to DIN EN 60751

For this standard the following connection between temperature and electrical resistance is core fixed:

For the temperature range -200 °C to 0 °C:

Rt = R0 (1 + At +Bt2 + C (t-100°C) t3)

For the range from 0 - 850°C:

Rt = R0 (1 + At + Bt2)

For the platinum quality generally used in the industry the following constants are valid in the equation:

A = 3,9083 *10-3 °C-1
B = -5,775 * 10-7 °C-2
C = -4,183 * 10-12 °C-4

a = (R100- R0)(100 * R0)-1 = and has the value 0,00385°C-1

R100: Resistance at 100°C
R0: Resistance at 0°C
