Calibratable sensors

Calibrating temperature sensors while in process

It is now possible with our new developed measuring insert with a special entrance for inserting a highly accurate reference sensor!

Calibrate your temperature sensors when it suits you the best. Improve the reproducibility of your products by calibrating the sensors periodically. Save on energy costs by only using the energy that is required.

Where in the past it wasn’t an option to calibrate temperature sensors without dismounting the sensors, we have now come up with a solution for calibrating sensors, while in process!

This new method is suitable for temperature measurements where a 6mm exchangeable measuring insert is being used. In your current thermowell, the 6mm insert will be exchanged for an eccentric located 3mm insert, this way space will be created in the protection tube for a highly accurate reference sensor.

This new way of calibrating sensors is mostly applied when thermowells are used with an inside diameter larger then 6mm. A 3mm measuring insert is used for measuring the temperature (as seen in the pictures above). Your current thermowell does not have to be exchanged, it is still situated at the same place in the process.

The terminal has 6-pins and is suitable for 2xPt100 3-wire, 1xPt100 4-wire, Single or Duplex Thermocouples (different types TC).

The high quality reference sensors are manufactured by us, both with a factory calibration certificate as well as with a DAkkS certificate. When the sensors are DAkkS calibrated, the calibration results are, among others, traceable to national and international standards.

The reference sensor measures the temperature with a very high accuracy and is used to calibrate the sensor that is already in process. We also supply different types of calibration equipment to measure signals or to simulate them. (Tip: Sensors are often exchanged pre-emptive, but another important maintenance aspect is to check the cables)

Summary of the benefits of using a measuring insert with an entry for a reference sensor:

  • Calibrations can be easily performed by your own employees.

  • The comparison is made under the exact same process conditions!

  • You can calibrate the sensors periodically, when it suits you the best.

  • You don’t have to interrupt the measurement or the controls to calibrate the sensors.

  • It reduces costs when you perform the calibrations yourself.

  • The reproducibility of your products improves. You have more control over different aspects of your process and the temperature it requires.

  • You can prove that your temperature sensors meet the, predetermined, accuracy (which is often a requirement for some industries)

  • Your current thermowell does not have to exchanged.

  • It saves energy. When you know the deviation of your sensor, you can keep the temperature on the exact right temperature so you don’t use more than is required.

There are alot of benefits when implementing this new designed measuring insert in your process.
